You may hear people saying that we are so much more than a cave, and it’s true! Our zip lines at Cave of the Winds Mountain Park are excitement you don’t want to miss! Marvel at breathtaking views of Pikes Peak while you glide along on the Frontier Zip Lines at Cave of the Winds Mountain Park. Our two zip lines, totaling over a third of a mile long and 80 feet above the canyon floor, are the newest above ground attraction at Cave of the Winds Mountain Park. It’s pure Colorado!

What to expect
Get ready to zip!
- To get to the launching point for the zipline course, you’ll harness up at our Gear Shack at Cave of the Winds Frontier Canyon, right next to the entrance for the cave tours and Via Ferrata Rock Trek.
- You’ll receive a brief but thorough safety training overview then be connected to our Via Ferrata track cable for an fun and challenging climbing activity through spectacular mountain terrain on a guided tour under the close supervision of our experienced tour guides.
- Our professional guides will lead you around limestone cliffs and mountain paths along and high above the canyon floor.
- Once on top at the zip line launch point you’ll harness on and Zzzzzzzzip, you’re off for smiles of fun!
Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes that cannot fall off their feet for this high-flying adventure. Sandals, high heels, flip flops, etc. will not be allowed. Tennis shoes or sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Also, wear either shorts or pants as skirts cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the harnesses, and bring sunscreen!

Frontier Zip Lines are only included with Via Ferrata Canyon Tours until November 1st.

- The minimum age to ride is 9 years old. Riders aged 9-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- The minimum weight to ride is 80 pounds and the maximum weight is 250 pounds.
- All riders must be between 48" - 78" inches tall and securely fit the harnesses.
- Arrive with shorts or long pants, and comfortable closed toed shoes with good traction.

No prior experience is necessary! Our professional guides will provide all the necessary instructions and safety gear for your outdoor adventures. The Via Ferrata portion includes a guided rock climbing experience, and our team will ensure you feel comfortable and secure throughout this incredible experience.
To get to the launching point for the zip line, you will gear up at our Gear Shack at Cave of the Winds Frontier Canyon, next to the entrance for the Lantern Tour. Then you’ll clip on and start up the Via Ferrata trail. The Via Ferrata trek concludes at the start of the zip lines. From there your guides will attach you to the zip lines and make sure you’re safe and having fun the whole way!
