From the AA Ireland website: The Virginia Pumpkin Festival takes place in Virginia, Co Cavan from Friday 24th until Monday 27th October. A numer of events will take place over the Bank Holiday Weekend and delays are likely in the area. Motorists should note that the Culchie Festival will also take place in nearby Kilnaleck and this will bring a lot of extra traffic.

On Fri 24th, the N3 Dublin/Cavan Rd will be closed for works at Virginia from 8am until 5pm. It will then close further on from 7pm until midnight for the pumpkin festival.

Restrictions will be in place again on Sunday 26th October from 3pm until approx 3am Monday 27th October.
